Our company performs a yearly weed control and fertilization program of up to 5 applications. Each application is important, in it’s own way, to help you maintain a more weed free and healthy lawn. Below is an explanation of each round.

Round one: This round is done in February through April. It consists of a Summer annual pre-emergent applied at maximum strength over the whole property. Also a single or combination of post-emergent will be applied to any  weeds or unwanted grasses. The pre-emergent is used to help minimize weeds later in the year. The post-emergent is used to kill weeds that are up and growing at the time of application.

Round two: This round is done in April through June. It consists of  a blended, high nitrogen fertilizer to help jump start your lawn and to help  establish good root depth in case of  drought conditions later in the year. Also a warm weather post-emergent is applied to any weeds that may have emerged since the earlier application.

Round three: This round is done in July and August. It consists of a blended, , high nitrogen fertilize to really bring out the green in the grass as well as helping maintain good root health. Also a warm weather post-emergent will be applied to any weeds that may appear at that time. If any hard to control weeds (nut sedge, button weed, wild violet) are present they will have special post-emergent applied to them at this time.

Round four: This round is done in September into November. It consists of pre-emergent applied at maximum strength over the whole property to help control Fall weeds. A single or combination of cool weather post-emergents will be sprayed as needed.

Round five: This round is done in November, December and January. We will lime, which is used to neutralize the ph of the soil in your lawn. It helps by breaking down materials such as leaves, and grass clippings to be used as organic fertilize by your lawn. A neutral soil also helps other chemicals used on your lawn perform better.

We are always willing to work with our customers to adjust the number of rounds they receive annually. We work with them to give them the best results for their lawn, within their budget.
